Andrew Reeder - Veterinary Director
Andrew graduated from The Royal Veterinary College in 1996 and worked as an intern for a year. He has gained much experience in small animal practice. Andrew is heavily involved in the management side of practice now and runs the three practices with his wife, Caroline, and their excellent team of staff. He still enjoys his work with the patients though and is particularly happy in the operating theatre.
Emily Mugford - Veterinary Surgeon
Emily graduated from The Royal Veterinary College in 2005 and has worked in small animal practice in Hampshire since then. She recently spent some time travelling the world. Now back on home soil, she has joined Brook House permanently and is enjoying getting acquainted with the patients.She is particularly interested in internal medicine, though she loves soft tissue surgery as well. In her spare time Emily enjoys spending time with friends and enjoing the Hampshire countryside.
Heidi Wyatt - Veterinary Surgeon
Heidi qualified from The Royal Veterinary College, London in 1993 and has since been mainly working in small animal practice in the south of England. She has worked part-time at Brook House since February 2008. Her special interests are alternative medicine and she has completed the 3 year HPTG homeopathy course, an introduction to herbal medicine and has been using acupuncture treatment on animals for over eight years. She is also interested in rabbit medicine. Heidi has two young daughters and spends her spare time with her family , two guinea pigs, an elderly cat and walking Daisy, a 3 year old labrador cross.
Sue Wren - Practice Manager
Sue has worked in veterinary practice since 1972. She qualified as a veterinary nurse in 1974 and her ambition was to become Head Nurse in a veterinary hospital which was acheived in 1988 when Brook House first gained hospital status. After many years of hand-on training the opportunity arose to become practice manager, a role offering different challenges. Sue resides with her partner alongside 2 cats - Gerry and KD, and 2 Irish Setters, George and Eva. Time away from work is spent on long walks with the dogs and planning trips abroad. Sue is keen on sports, mainly golf, having discovered only 3 years ago it is now an all consuming passion!
Serita Vyas - Head Veterinary Nurse
Serita has been working in the Veterinary profession for 9 years. She qualified as a Veterinary Nurse 3 years ago and has been an assessor for student VNs for about a year. Serita really enjoys being a Veterinary Nurse and loves to see her patients get better - it gives a real sense of achievement. She joined Brook House in March 2010 as the Head Nurse which is a new challenge which she is loving. Serita has a cat who is lovely and affectionate and she looks after her in her spare time. She enjoys socialising with friends and keeping fit at the gym.
Vicky Couzens - Student NurseVicky has been working at Brook House since August 2007. Previous to working with us Vicky completed a National Diploma in Animal Care at Sparsholt College. She has two guinea pigs called Poppy and Daisy and a rescue Staffordshire Bull Terrier called Jack. She enjoys walking with him but he'd rather be at home snoring at her feet! She started the NVQ in Veterinary Nursing, which she will complete in 2010 to become a qualified Veterinary Nurse.
Leanne Harris - Student Nurse
Leanne started at Brook House Veterinary Hospital in September 2008 as a trainee nurse. Previously she has worked at Paulton's park as a bird keeper and has attended Sparsholt College where she did the animal management National Diploma. She enjoys walking in the forest with Bailey the Springer Spaniel.
Laura Arrandale - Student Nurse
Laura joined the practice in March 2010 on a years placement as part of her BSc Veterinary Nursing and Practice Management Course. She attends Harper Adams University College in Newport, Shropshire and will qualify in June 2012. Laura plays netball, enjoys horse riding and also has two rabbits called Minstrel and Fletcher.
Alyson Powell - Receptionist
Alyson joined Brook House in November 2008. Previously she has spent the last 10 years working in the healthcare sector providing one to one support to the elderly and disabled in a domiciliary setting with a special interest in palliative care. She has a 22 year old daughter in her final year at Bristol UWE studying psychology and linguistics. In her spare time she enjoys yoga, walking and travelling.
Anne Turner - Receptionist
Anne qualified as a veterinary nurse in 1976 and has been working for the practice on and off ever since. She has worked saturday morning surgery for the last 22 years. She has two delinguent cats called Boris and Betsy. Anne enjoys walking, good food and wine.
Jacquie Dowrick - Receptionist
Jacquie has previous experience as a Veterinary Receptionist and has spent 25 years in the civil service. She started at Brook House in February 2010 following some work experience at the hospital. A career change means she is now in her final year at Sparsholt (Horticulture degree and Advanced National Certificate in Animal Management). In her spare time she enjoys growing and exhibiting plants and spending lots of time with animals (She has 16 rabbits and 2 cats!).
